Film, Fun, and Community: Sponsor Longleaf 2016

Join us in promoting the art and craft of filmmaking and the passion of film to fans in Raleigh, the Triangle, and beyond.  With your help, as a sponsor or an in-kind donor, we  will keep Longleaf Film Festival free to attend.

While the North Carolina Museum of History has long explored stories from the state’s past through exhibits and programs, we also recognize that making films is making history. And that means the Longleaf Film Festival is a great fit!  The Longleaf Film Festival explores both historical and contemporary stories in film—from across the state and around the globe—that are central to our understanding of the world around us.

The museum’s second annual Longleaf Film Festival will continue to celebrate stories told through the art of narrative and documentary movies, outstanding films made all over the world—not just on Hollywood soundstages. To help us share these films, in this place that tells the stories that connect so many of us, we hope you will become a sponsor or an in-kind donor.

In 2015, its inaugural year, the Longleaf Film Festival received 170 entries from 25 countries, a number that surpassed expectations and resulted in showings of 41 juried films on three screens at the museum. An opening-night reception for filmmakers was held, as was a meet-and-greet session that allowed viewers to mix with people associated with many of the films and a public awards ceremony that acknowledged the best and the most. During the free daylong festival, more than 400 people attended. In addition, the online and social media impact was huge, reaching 24,000 people and generating 3,220 hits on the festival’s web pages in only a few months.

Longleaf 2016 will be held May 13 and 14 at the museum in downtown Raleigh. We plan to add a workshop and a panel discussion this year, along with space for sponsors—just a few more steps in making this festival THE film festival of our capital city. * Sponsor must provide presentation-ready logo file (.png, .svg, .eps) with transparent background of at least 300 dpi resolution. Larger resolution files may be needed for print and ad inclusion.

*** Video advertisements may not exceed 15 seconds in total length. Sponsor must provide video advertisement. Video file should be 1920 x 1080 in mp4 format.

In-kind donations and individual event sponsorships may also qualify for sponsor-level benefits but must fall within one of the sponsorship amounts. In exchange for donations/sponsorships, the Longleaf Film Festival will recognize contributions by

  • placing the organization name/logo* and/or promotional materials where applicable
  • announcing donors/sponsors by name at the public Awards Ceremony
  • providing the perks of any established sponsorship level that is met (proof of dollar value for in-kind donations is required)
